Overpowering panoramic views of the Dolomites on the route through mugo pine forests, high above the Eisacktal Valley. A walk with strollers from hut to hut on the Villanderer Alm alpine pasture, a multitude of attractions for children: Petting zoo, children’s play park and fairy forest, enrich the family experience.

    Saltnerstein parking lot (1,744 m)

    From Gasserhütte mountain restaurant (1,744m; parking lot, good mountain road from Chiusa via Villandro, local bus connection). On footpath no. 15 along the Mair-in-Plun-Alm hut near the reservoir, recommended to turn right onto trail no. 24, which crosses a wooden bridge at the start, through a marshy meadow, on to the ideally located “Am Rinderplatz“ mountain inn (1,799m). For the return route, follow dirt road no. 23. There, in a westerly direction, it leads back through the forest to trail no. 6, then descend left onto the footpath and you will return to Gasserhütte hut.
