Roen loop trail along the via ferrata of Mount Roen and the Camosci equipped trail - Description
Directions

Start
Malga di Romeno
By car, drive to the village of Amblar and continue following the signs to Malga di Romeno. The road is initially asphalt surfaced and then turns into a gravel road. There is a large car park near the malga mountain hut.
From the car park, continue on foot and once past the malga, proceed straight ahead on the gravel road leading to Oltradige Refuge. Just behind the refuge, you’ll find signs for the Mount Roen via ferrata. The trail climbs up to the first switches to rocky terrain, where you need to put on your equipment.
The via ferrata continues along the exposed trail and easy rocks until you reach Mount Roen ridge. It will take a few minutes’ walk among the large pine trees to reach the summit. From here, continue again among the pine trees on trail SAT 500 that climbs down to the evident Schwarzkopf cross.
Just before the cross, turn left and follow the signs for the Camosci Trail. The first part of this trail is a forest path that subsequently approaches the rock faces of Mount Roen. Even though there are no equipped sections here, it is advisable to wear your helmet in any case as stones may fall down the rock faces.
Carry on until you reach small mountain ledges with a metal rope where the colour of the rock varies from white to red. After the last section of metal rope, the trail descends into the woods, taking you quickly to Oltradige Refuge and its beautiful panoramic terrace.
After a break in the refuge, return to the car park near Malga di Romeno. -
