Röthenspitze summit ski tour - Description

Ascent: Just before Kaltenbrunn, the forest path on the right enters the Sennerberg valley. Follow this path on a moderate incline into the valley, always to the right of the little river. Leave the Simile and Sennerberg alp on the right. After 1 ½ hours you reach the junction near the alpine pasture Bärnfiechtalm, which is 100 m up on the left. Continue along the left side of the valley until you reach 1643 m, where you can easily climb the steep step to the left (summer path).
Now do not cross over to the pasture on the left, but diagonally right over beautiful terrain straight up to point 2064 on the map. Now left to a small ridge straight up to the flat ridge. Now briefly left to the highest point.
Descent as ascent.
! After heavy fresh snowfall, the valley up to the turnoff to the alpine pasture Bärnfiechtalm is avalanche-prone from the flanks!

From the A22 motorway exit in Sterzing head west towards Gasteig and turn left into the Jaufental valley. Continue to Mittertal/Val di Mezzo, then follow a small side road on the left to the Hotel Jaufentalerhof and continue to Kaltenbrunn/Fontanafredda (approx. 5.5 km from Gasteig).
