  At the top of the village of Roveré della Luna (287 m), just beyond the Ristorante da Germana, an asphalt road runs up into the Val dei Molini. Parking is available a little further on where the road widens near an electricity sub-station (about 350 m). The route (footpath no. 507) follows the road and up into the valley alongside the Rio Bosconero stream to the ruins of a mill (Friedrich, i. 502B, 389 m, 25 min from the village, less from the car park). A little further on you come to a road paved with the typical porphyry cobblestones known as “smoleri”, that climbs steeply up the side of the valley to a level area at Pianizzia (i. 502A, 655 m, 40 min). Take the forest track signposted SAT 502 (Pianizzia/Crosara, i. 502, 680 m, 5 min), which in a few minutes takes you to Kofel (735 m, 15 min; shrine to the Madonna and barrier across the road). From here the forest track climbs steeply up the Val del Rivo Bosconero and where the road levels out, ignoring the left-hand fork (i. Maso del Monte, 898 m, 30 min), continue instead straight ahead, still on the side of the Val del Rivo Bosconero. Near a hairpin bend leading to nearby farms (Val del Rivo Bosconero, i. 519, 900 m, 20 min) turn right onto a level mule track (signposted Favogna). After a few minutes cross the stream (946 m, 15 min) and take the path off to the left (signposted). The path runs level across the entire ridge above Pianizzia and finally drops briefly to cross the dry bed of a stream before joining the forest track to the village of Favogna (South Tyrol, 1007 m). After passing the settlements of Hofstatt (1000 m, 45 min) and Tratt (i. 502B, 1010 m, 10 min; end of the SAT footpath) you come to Favogna di Sotto and the church of San Leonardo, with nearby café/restaurant ( 5 min). From here you can walk back to the start by the same route (2 hr 40 min) or follow SAT footpath no. 502B as far as Val dei Molini/Friedrich and from there take SAT footpath 507 (1 hr 30 min to the village, less to the car park).

Take the San Michele all'Adige - Mezzocorona exit from the A22 motorway then follow the signs for Mezzocorona. At the roundabout after the Vender Legnami timber yards take the first exit (signposted Roveré della Luna) along the Via Rotaliana. At the second roundabout go straight ahead, over the level crossing and on to Piazza San Gottardo (Hotel Drago on the left). Take the first exit from the Piazza and at the next roundabout follow the signs for Roveré della Luna. Having passed the Roveré della Luna road sign keep on the SP21 road, go past the primary schools, then at the junction (note the signpost for SAT footpath 507 to Pianizzia and the Val dei Molini below the road sign) turn left towards the centre. Go straight ahead up Via Mulini, which brings you to the top of the village where you’ll see the signpost for SAT footpath 507 (Val dei Molini).
Leave your car in the village or follow the asphalt road to Val dei Molini and park where the road widens near an electricity sub-station about 350 m after the Ristorante da Germana.
