Valle di Cembra from Palù di Giovo - Description

Must for lovers of cycling, the landscape variety and ascent/descent intervals give rhythm to the course and offer exciting challenges.
Circuit to discover Valle di Cembra in all it's caratteristic: the typic morphology defined by the impetuos flow Avisio river, the extensions of vineyard fields supported by endless hectares of dry stone walls, the little peasant villages perched on the slopes of the mountains and porphyry quarries, with dark red colour, with it made streets and houses.
The itinerary reveals the soul of this valley, with his genuity and spontaneity.

    Palù di Giovo

    From the Palù village on the way to the Molini, passes throught the Verla di Giovo inhabited and continue to going up the panoramic slope that leads to the hamlet of Ceolo di Giovo. Continue n the SS612 road until the entrance of Faver di Altavalle village and than take the provincial road 101. The street go down with an considerable slope to the Avisio river bed, going throught the Valle and going up in the Segonzano municipality. 
    Joints to Scancio of Segonzano, the most difficult climb is overcome, you have to continue coasting along the right side of the Valley with an light up and down with small fractions and woods until reach the dam of Stramentizzo, natural fitting between two side of the valley. Come back in the SS 612 to Faver di Altavalle and than, from the same road of the outward, until Palù di Giovo.

Tips for the tour

Along the tour there is cellars and restaurants where you can taste the liquid gold of the Valley and the peasant kitchen. Every village have it's church with paintings at times of great value as in the case of San Pietro at Cembra and San Leonardo at Lisignago. The itinerary passes by de pyramids of land.

Provenendo dall’autostrada A22 del Brennero, sia da sud che da nord, esci al casello di Trento nord (distanza dal casello km 22,5), percorri la S.S. 12 del Brennero in direzione nord fino al bivio di Lavis, per transitare poi sulla S.S. 612 Lavis - Castello di Fiemme che conduce fino alla Valle di Cembra e poi poco prima di Verla di Giovo prendere il bivio per Palù di Giovo.
Vicino al palazzetto dello sport di Palù è disponibile un parcheggio gratuito da cui parte l'itinerario.

public transport
Dalla stazione delle corriere di Trento prendere la linea B102 in direzione Cavalese (Trento - Cembra - Capriana - Cavalese), scendere a Verla di Giovo  e poi prendere la linea B105 in direzione Ville di Giovo. Il collegamento Ville - Masen di Giovo (di circa 1,7 km) non è coperto da trasporto pubblico.
