On the “Naturkundlicher Lehrpfad Wolfsthurn“ in the Achenrainschlucht gorge by the tossing waters of Fernerbach brook at Mareta in the Ridnauntal Valley, visitors traveling the shaded path there, are able to get close to nature.

    The natural history tour at Wolfsthurn Castle starts opposite the parish church in Mareta (1,035m; signposted) and leads below the castle mound at Mareiter Bach brrok on the orographic right side of the Achenrainschlucht gorge northward through an untouched natural forest. A variety of natural history stops along the way bring visitors closer to nature. After a tour in the forest north of Wolfsthurn Castle the tour continues to the castle pond. On trail. 9 go past the west side of the castle, back to the starting point in the center of town.
