WoodyWalk – A Circuit Trail on the Plose Mountain - Description

Along this high mountain trail, which is suitable for strollers, hikers enjoy magnificent views over the Dolomites with the Peitlerkofel, Aferer and Villnösser Geisler, Langkofel and Rosengarten mountains. There are multiple attractions in wood for young and old. There are tree trunk benches and wooden chairs on which to relax. All this makes the “WoodyWalk” route with panoramic views an exciting walk for families.

    Valcroce, cableway mountain station (2,050 m)

    From the Plose cable car mountain station (2,050m), footpath no. 17 runs above the chapel and the Geisler inn to the alpine meadows. There, the WoodyWalk trail leads past a variety of children’s play parks, then takes you on a leisurely walk on a dirt road in an easterly direction to the burnt-out ruin of the Alte Rossalm mountain hut (2,124m). The route signed as 17B continues further, then ascends to the left, curving (also suitable for strollers) to Rossalm mountain inn (2,180m). For the return route to the cable car mountain station, you can follow the Plose agricultural road no. 14.
