Camping Gilfenklamm

Under high spruce and larches trees, by the entrance to the Ratschingser Tal valley stands the camping Gilfenklamm. The camping is called after the Gilfenklamm, bizarre, bordered by phosphoresced rocks marble gorge with the Ratschingser stream thundering into the depth. The path to the Gilfenklamm gorge, one of the astonishing miracles of nature, was built 100 years ago. This way has many stunning, exciting views. The camping Gilfenklamm is also perfect for hikingand wandering in other directions. For example here you can start your hike to the heart of the Stubaier Alps. After serpentines of the Jaufenpass passage comes the Passeier valley and then cure town of Meran. The Regional Mining Museum in Ridnaun or Museum of Hunting and Fishing of the castle of Wolfsthurn in Mareit are either not far from the camping. Those who prefer staying in the valley can do, fo instance, Sterzing town situated three km away from the camping. Take a cycleway and will soon find yourself in the town ancient centre with its famous Zwölferturm tower and ancient houses with plaques on the doors. Here you can do all the necessary shopping ranging from exquisite boutiques to souvenir shops. Those who are used to spend their holidays in an active way will have here many possibilities. In winter you can choose between mountain ski resort of Ratschings-Jaufen and crosscountry paradise at the Ridnaun. Snowborders and tobogganers will also find here interesting slopes. In Sterzing you can visit a new swimming pool, tennis courts and even horse stables. Those who "like it hot" can do rafting or paragliding which are organised right at the camping. Our camping has a children´s playground. We pay much attention to maintenance of the territory. New sanitary facilities with all necessary things are at you complete disposal. Our guests can taste the local south tyrolean specialities or a pizza which is very well cooked at our campings´ bar. Camping Gilfenklamm is easy to reach. It´s situated two km from the Sterzing highway exit.
