Emma
If you have visited Merano before, you will no doubt have noticed an elevated building with a fascinating façade overlooking Piazza Mazzini: this is the former Grand Hotel Emma. It is precisely where Franz Kafka once came to treat himself and write love letters from the sunny loggia that you will find this flat. The historic Grand Hotel Emma was built around 1907 and, in addition to Franz Kafka, hosted personalities such as Bela Bartok, Franz Defregger, Gertrud von Le Fort, Christian Morgenstern and many others.
Conveniently located in the very heart of South Tyrol, our flat is on the third floor and enjoys a clear view to the south, directly over the park. This elegantly renovated accommodation in Merano allows you to reach the historic city centre on foot, and to relax amidst its arcades, restaurants and ice-cream parlours. The proximity to the train station and the bicycle path provides an easy way to explore the Merano countryside. Directly from the flat you can admire the Laugenspitze (2434 m) on the horizon, which awakens in everyone a longing for the mountains. Nothing can stop your regenerating holiday in South Tyrol.
