LOCATION
House VITUS is located 1600 m above sea level overlooking S. Maddalena at the valley head of Gsies/Casies Valley. Its high position on the hillside makes it possible to enjoy a beautiful view to the northern Dolomites. It is also an excellent starting point for hikes, mountain hikes and ski touring.

You will be able to enjoy a view over the valley head of S. Maddalena, the peaks framing Val Casies/Gsiesertal Valley as well as the Dolomites of Prags/Braies Valley.
ARCHITECTUAL STYLE
The house was actually built twice. The original farmhouse building - called Veidler - was erected between 1533 and 1536. Over 500 years later a “rescue campaign” was needed to safe the structure. In 2012 the house was rebuild for a second time using a local technic. It is a log house with squared timbers and simple saddle notches using the original house’s timber above a new, masoned basement floor.
