Located in the heart of the lower
Eisack valley, the
medieval artistic town of Klausen awaits you with its extraordinary and varied surroundings. A landscape in which the German artist Albrecht Dürer has already found inspiration for his famous copper engraving "Das große Glück" (The Great Happiness). At the end of the 19th century, Klausen finally became a well-known meeting place for artists whose works are exhibited in the local town museum.
The picturesque and historic village centre - one of the most beautiful medieval centres in Italy - awaits you with its romanesque streets, beautiful facades of houses decorated with oriel windows, narrow and lined up in a wide variety of colours, traditional restaurants where you can enjoy pure culinary delights and numerous sightseeings.

town museum, in the old walls of the

When you spend the golden autumn here, don't miss traditional city festivals like the Gasslfest with demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship, the Törggelefest or the culinary Birmehlherbst. Along the route from Pardell to Verdings, the latter offers numerous gastronomic specialities according to traditional and modern recipes.
