Carrington-Brown (UK/D): “Best of 20 Years”
|
About the event
With their brilliant mix of music and British comedy, Rebecca Carrington and Colin Brown have been causing an international sensation for 20 years. Numerous awards and performances in the USA, Canada, South Africa, Russia and throughout Europe speak for themselves. Together with ‘Joe’, Rebecca's cello from the 18th century, they play homages from pop to opera and jazz to Bollywood.
With dry understatement, the artist duo poke fun at themselves and their fellow human beings, always with a musical treat in their pockets. Whether original or cover songs, the two very British Berliners by choice span the musical universe from Bach and Brahms to Bond and Beatles to Britpop and Billy Jean.
Whether original songs or songs you've heard before: Carrington-Brown's interpretations are unique every time and have long been her trademark: skilfully lascivious, mercilessly silly, ravishingly ironic.
‘A charming crossover between classical and pop, a brilliant mixture of music and British comedy with unbeatable humour.’ (Südwest Presse)
‘Rebecca Carrington plays like the devil and sings like a goddess.’ (Berliner Morgenpost)
