Ensemble Graces & Voices - Love never ends
About the event
The programme "Love Never Ends" was created in response to the current global social and political situation. Love remains almost the only means of bringing people closer together again and saving society. The medieval Gregorian chants, which are textually based on the Bible, frequently portray love in all its versatility and many facets. These include motherly affection, the erotic love between two lovers, fondness for a dear friend, and selfless devotion towards the sinner. Alongside chants from the core Gregorian repertoire on this theme, rarities will also be heard that are found only in medieval Austrian sources, such as those from Vorau and Graz. The programme is completed by contemporary polyphonic compositions, written in part especially for the ensemble Graces & Voices, as well as magnificent organ works performed by Johannes Zeilner.
