Gourmet autumn: Wine tasting Castel Sallegg

|

About the event

Every winery has its own story: daily life on the estate, tending the vines, working in the cellar and the harvest. This evening, we’ll be exploring the Castel Sallegg winery and tasting its wines.

And the music adds a special touch to the evening, turning the wine tasting into an unforgettable treat for all the senses.

CASTEL SALLEGG:

Castel Sallegg embodies a rich winegrowing heritage in the heart of Caldaro (Kaltern) on Lake Caldaro. Since 1851, the historic estate has been owned by the Counts of Kuenburg, combining tradition, terroir, and artisanal winemaking in a unique way. Across approximately 30 hectares of vineyards, divided among the three historic estates Seehof, Leisenhof, and Preyhof, distinctive wines are crafted that reflect the character of Caldaro’s terroir. The vineyards stretch from the shores of Lake Caldaro to the sun-drenched slopes above the village, benefiting from the interplay of Mediterranean climate, Alpine influences, and diverse soils.

In the castle’s cellar, which is over 1,000 years old, the wines mature with great care and patience. Each bottle tells the story of a region shaped by centuries of viticulture. Castel Sallegg combines deep-rooted history with a modern commitment to quality, creating wines of remarkable elegance, minerality, and expression. The wine portfolio is presented in three collections: Nobilis (fresh and approachable), Serenis (elegant and mature), and Imperialis (exclusive single-vineyard wines). The range includes white, red, and rosé wines, as well as a rosé sparkling wine—distinctive, refined, and expressive of their terroir.
