About the event
Before its international premiere in New York, Klaus Zambiasi's work "Luna Rossa" will be on view at the Piccola Galleria in Bolzano. The exhibition offers a first look at the piece ahead of its appearance at the Museum of Modern Art.
"Luna Rossa" (tempera on paper, 24x34 cm, 2000) has been selected for a video projection at MoMA on 19 June, during the presentation of the Atlante dell'Arte Contemporanea, published by Giunti. The work appears in the catalogue's biographical entry on Zambiasi and will also be projected during the conferences and lectio magistralis accompanying the event. On the same day, "Luna Rossa" will be displayed on a giant billboard in Times Square for 30 seconds every hour throughout the day.
Zambiasi was born in Castiglione delle Stiviere (MN) to South Tyrolean parents from Laives and lives and works between Bolzano and Bratislava. Self-taught, he has published four novels and in 2025 received the Premio Artista dell'Anno in Cesenatico, with works shown at fairs and exhibitions in Madrid, Basel, Zurich, Paris, Cologne, New York, Miami, Tokyo and Beijing.
