Anna Mahler's life resembles a web of origins and time. Her famous father Gustav Maler and her overbearing mother Alma shaped her life and her sculptural work. After studying painting in Rome and Paris, she trained as a stone sculptor in Vienna. In the 1930s, her Viennese studio was a centre of encounters where writers, composers and painters met.
