About the event

Muta di Malles: traditional meadow irrigation and ground-nesting birds.

During the walk, we will discover how irrigation works via the ‘Waale’ – the irrigation channels of the Muta di Malles – and why this system remains highly efficient to this day. We will pass through an area which, as well as offering spectacular scenery, is an important habitat for skylarks, tree pipits and other meadow birds. The excursion culminates in a breathtaking view of Ortles and the other imposing peaks of the Upper Vinschgau Valley.
