About the event
Pictures in the Landscape 1915-17
Based on two outstanding photo collections – the Heinz von Lichem Archive and the Gualtieri Collection – selected locations within the Three Peaks Nature Park are presented and placed in a compelling dialogue with the contemporary landscape. The aim is to help visitors recognize that the same mountains, now a destination for mountaineers and nature lovers, were once part of the fiercest front lines of the mountain warfare during the First World War.
By juxtaposing photographs from both armies, complemented by superimposed image pairs, maps, and scholarly information, a visual panorama of the Dolomite Front emerges, creating a bridge between nature, history, and the culture of remembrance.
This exhibition is aimed at all visitors to the Toblach Nature Park House.
