About the event
The season of "Törggelen" is like a fifth season in Brixen and its surroundings. Together we take a look behind the scenes of this tradition: We get to know the origins of wine in Brixen and uncover the secrets of the Törggele cuisine.
We hike along the riverbank of Brixen to the Griesserhof winery, situated on a sunny hill. There we are welcomed by winegrower Paul, who lets us taste his wines in the historic wine cellar. We continue our hike along the Keschtnweg (chestnut trail) and stop at the Buschenschank Inn Burgerhof Meßner on a hill above Brixen. Together with organic winemaker and chef Johannes, we prepare original South Tyrolean dumplings and learn about his philosophy of sustainable farming.
