About Rosengarten

The battlements of the Rosengarten glow pink and romantic in the evening sun: a unique natural event, the Enrosadira in one of the most beautiful mountain groups in the Dolomites.

A breathtaking natural phenomenon surrounds the rose garden: every evening, when the sun leaves the western world, it dips the massif into a gentle pink and violet play of colors - the so-called Enrosadira. The impressive Alpenglow is one of the most impressive natural spectacles in the world and owes its evening glow to the mineralogical combination of magnesium and calcium carbonate in the rock of the mountain.
In the middle of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park in the Eggental, the captivating mountain massif of the Rosengarten rises from Welschnofen to the Fassa Valley and, together with its impressive valleys, fascinates not only passionate athletes such as hikers, climbers, mountain bikers and skiers, but also captivates enthusiastic nature-lovers.

In the center of the mountain group, the 6 Vajolet peaks provide a splendid picture and are separated at an altitude of 2,460 m by the northern Vajolet Pass and the 2,627 m south Laurin Pass. Further highlights in the realm of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage of the Dolomites, which have always attracted summiteers from all over the world, are the Kesselkogel (at 3,004 m the highest peak of the Rosengarten) which can be reached via Grasleitenpass, the Rosengartenspitze as well as numerous via ferrata like the one mentioned above Grasleitenpass or the Santnerpass.
Nature lovers, on the other hand, will find their taste in the bottom of the valley: Countless hiking trails and mountain bike tours will take you along magnificent meadows and dense forests through the beautiful surroundings. During the winter months you can look forward to romantic, snow-covered landscapes, which you can explore on casual snowshoe hikes, fast-paced ski and snowboard runs or even in an adventurous ice climbing game.
In the southern part of the rose garden, separated from the Karer Pass, is the Latemar. Very close to this mountain pass there are 2 special attractions - the Carezza Ski Resort and the fabulous Karersee, which attracts countless visitors every year.
