Biotope Hairer in Viums
The biotope "Hairer" is an artificially impounded tarn filled with life, located in the village Viums.
An eye-catcher is undoubtedly an ancient tronk, lurking out oft the tarn.
Given that the underground of the plains from the high plateau consist of water-impermeable clay,
thousands of years ago, small seas have formed itself. Already in the 2nd and 3rd century BC, people have settled down at its shores. Reed mace, which can get bigger than 2 metres grow next to the shore.
Other nature habitats in the Natz-Schabs holiday region include Raiermoos, Sommersürs, Zussis and Laugen.
Arriving
Via the Brenner motorway A22 to Vipiteno/Sterzing and on to the highway heading south, take the exit Bressanone/Brixen Pusteria Valley, after 1 km turn right towards Naz.
