Natural Heritage Chestnut Happichl
The chestnut tree is situated near the small farmstead Happichlhof (Restaurant Happichl) in Rablà/Rabland and it is registered as a natural monument since 1978. It can be visited during a hiking tour along the Rablander Waalweg (irrigation channel) in Rablà/Rabland.
Protection reason is the high age of the tree and its aesthetic peculiarity.
According to the statements of the owner, the roots of the chestnut tree reach under the barn of the Happichlhof (distance 10 m).
As a result of the freestanding position, the tree could freely develop. The trunk divides at 6 m height in two main branches.
