Women's Museum

The Women's Museum of Merano was founded in 1988 by Evelyn Ortner.
The women's museum describes the history of women by means of clothes and fashion, accessories and everyday objects. Selected articles of clothing and curious implements act as a mirror of society from the past until today. There are special exhibitions and events specific to women that examine the topic of female ideals and roles.
There is also a specialist library.
The Women's Museum of Merano was founded by Evelyn Ortner (1944-1997) in 1988; today it is led by the association "Women's Museum". We are looking forward to experiencing always new and creative forms of collaboration with you!
