Strickerhof farm can be found in the midst of orchards in the valley basin of Bozen/Bolzano near Sigmundskron/Firmian castle. This organic farm has a long wine tradition going back to 1907. Today, the family shop sells fresh seasonal fruit, superb quince jelly and distillates, as well as a variety of apple juices and grape juice.
FRESH FRUIT JUICES
On the Strickerhof farm you can buy naturally cloudy fruit juice (apple, grape), each 0,5 l, 0,75 l, 1l, white wines (Bronner, Chardonnay DOC, Goldmuskateller DOC), rosé (JPK Rosé) and red wines (JPK, JPK Cuvee, Lagrein DOC), each 0.74 l.
Fruit juices – A juicy treat
When squeezed, South Tyrol's apples and grapes, with their special intense taste, make a delicious and thirst-quenching drink, popular with young and old. The 'Red Rooster' brand guarantees that only fruit harvested when ripe from South Tyrolean farms may be used in its products, whether single juice or mixed juice. In addition, apples and grapes have to be grown in accordance with the cultivation norms for integrated or organic fruit farming. Only top quality naturally cloudy apple or grape juice may be pressed and the use of anti-oxidants or flavour enhancers is not permitted. After bottling, the fruit juice is gently pasteurised to allow longer conservation.
Wine- in vino veritas
This is especially true of a glass of wine bearing the ‘Red Rooster’ trademark. Own-produced grapes of the highest quality as well as careful processing on the farm guarantee a uniquely enjoyable effect on the palate. South Tyrol’s sunshine and clear mountain air lend the grapes their special aroma. It’s good that the origin of the grapes – straight from the farm – plays such a crucial role at ‘Red Rooster’. The farmers take the processing of grapes seriously, as well as taking care to get rid of any grasses and weeds around the vines using mechanical means. A board of experts then tests the sensory quality of the wine.
Coming from Eppan/Appiano, take the turning for Frangart/Frangarto after the Pillhof roundabout. After 500 m you will find the farm on the right hand side of the road.
