821 - Costa - Biotopo di Ecken - Description

Easy and panoramic trail next to Folgaria and passing through the 17th building Maso Spilzi, the Golf Course, the Ecken biotope and the Sanctuary of Madonna delle Grazie. It is a short excursion in history, culture, nature.
«Bios» means life and «Topos» means place in ancient Greek… “Biotopo” therefore is a place full of life! The trail takes to the biotope of Ecken, a damp place unique in Trentino. Here it is possible to see the mountain chicken or giant ditch frog or the rare king quail. A dirt road will take you in a wild forest of fir trees. Then, the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie, the shrine of the Our Lady of Grace, the patron of the skiers of Italy. It is a holy location and quietness is much appreciated.

From Folgaria at the round about proceed towards Costa. At the end of the village, take the right and follow the road towards the Sanctuary of Madonna delle Grazie. After ca 100 meters you will reach the location called Négheli, the starting point.
Next to the starting point, you will find a wide free parking area.
