828 - Passo del Sommo - Ortesino - Description

The beauty of the forest, the silence of nature, the ancient signs of a rural world with cows in the pastures, fresh milk, tasty cheese, the flavours of the Alpe.
From Passo Sommo, take the comfortable dirt road that runs between the golf course and leads to the mountain hut Stella d'Italia. Watch out in the woods and pastures! You could meet some roe deers!You will proceed passing by the ruins of a barrack of the Great War (the same road leads to the fortress Sommo Alto). The route continues down into a large forest basin. You will arrive in Malga Ortesino, an ancient mountain pasture which is now a restaurant that whets visitors’ appetite with its delicacies from Trentino. Nearby is the so-called "Stallone", a large stable covered with stone slabs. It is worth visiting. Who knows how many cows bellowing you could hear!

From the big roundabout of Folgaria Est, follow the directions to Lavarone. Go through the village Costa and continue until Passo Sommo.
There is a big free parking area near the starting point of the trail.
