833 - Scalata Cornetto - Description

Do you like to climb the mountains? Well, this is a really good climb that puts your physical strength and your leg to the test. But it is also a funny downhill!
From the village Folgaria start facing the wooded southern slope of Mount Cornetto and pedal through the centuries-old forest paths up to 1.600 m a.s.l. Hard? Strenuous? Yes but from the peak you will see the magnificent panorama, one of the widest in Trentino, reaching also the mountains above the Lake Garda. After climbing up, it comes the descent. The way down to Passo Sommo (1343 m) is truly amusing and ends with a relaxing biking through the Golf course in Costa, the protected natural area Biotopo di Ecken back to Folgaria. Wasn’t it a fantastic MTB excursion?

    From Folgaria Est, pedal along Via Cadorna, reach the village Costa and, before arriving, turn left on the road that leads to La Pineta sports field. Before reaching the playground, follow the signs indicating a path that climbs the southern slope of Mount Cornetto. After a good climb in the forest area (spruce) you will reach the place Paradiso.
    Reach Malga Cornetto and then return along the convenient dirt road that descends to Passo Sommo. Turn right, go down the provincial road SS350 for about 300 m towards Folgaria. Turn left to take the road that descends to Maso Spilzi, cross the Golf course, perimeter the Ecken biotope, pass through the Sanctuary and reach Folgaria from east.
