This is a classic of the Alpe Cimbra, one of the most important and demanding paths of Trentino, which gives the name to the international competition. It passes between the seven fortress of the First World War, between accents and descents and amazing views!
The 100 Km dei Forti is an important and well-known MTB competition, with its 100 km of climb and descent through dirty roads and paths throughout the seven fortress of the First Word War. You can make this permanent parkour always, not only during the competition. One thing is sure: it is a strong MTB-excursion but one of the beautiful in Trentino. There are kilometres and kilometres of emotions; between wide panoramas, climb and descent, passing through the Bike Chalet dell’Alpe Cimbra, reference points, even in case of a breakdown.

    Folgaria

    From Folgaria to Lavarone
    From the centre of Folgaria, reach the church and the place of San Lorenzo. After a while, near the Casa della Cultura take the right until the Hotel Villa Vilma. After the Hotel take the right and reach the Sportive Center. Here on an asphalted street go ahead to Costa. When you reach the crossing of the Street SS350, cross it and go ahead in direction to Négheli and Maso Spilzi (an old house of the XVIII Century), then take the right and reach the passo del Sommo (1343 m). From here, there is a street to Perprùneri, than a dirty road to the village of Tézzeli. After the path of the Telder, you will reach San Sebastiano. Pass the centre of it descending to Morganti and then the street SS349 della Fricca. Here turn at the right to the village of Carbonare. Following the road signage reach the place “Mèuser” and then the malga Elbele, until the Austro-Hungarian Commando, testimony of the First World War. From here, you will reach the area of Lavarone.
     
    From Lavarone to Luserna
    Ascend the Mount Rust and after have seen the station of optical telegraphs on the top, follow the road signals to Lavarone Chiesa. Following the road signs, you can reach the residential areas of Stengheli and Bertoldi. Passing through the upland of Tablat, you will arrive in the typical village of Slaghenaufi. From here, near the military cemetery and its beautiful view to the area, go ahead in direction of Luserna. When you reach the crossing of the Street of Monterovere, take the left and passing through a forestry street reach the Fortress Forte Busa Verle. From here, you can see the top of the Val d’Assa. After have seen the fortress you will reach for a break the Hotel - Bar Vezzena. From here go ahead to the peak of the monte Cucco and passing through a dirty road reach Malga Costalta. From here, passing through the grazing land reach the Malga Basson di sopra and then descend through the Street Costesin. Near this place, there is Malga Campo and then the Fortress Forte Lusérn (1549 m. after have visited it go ahead to Malga Millegrobbe (today restaurant and Resort) and then, through the wooded area of the Tannbolt, reach Luserna, the homeland of the cimbrian. Here you can have a break also at the Haus von Prukk (a typical cimbrian house) and then at the document center, whit its exhibitions.
     
    From Luserna to Folgaria
    From Luserna, following the forestry street to Masetti, reach Malga Laghetto, cross the street SS349 and reach the passo del Cost and arrive to the fortress of the First World War Forte Belvedere Gschwent. After have visited it go ahead to Lavarone and its beautiful see, acend to the Mount Rust and descend to the village of Carbonare. Here there is a demanding ascent to the hill Cherle and its Fortress of the First Wiorld War, Forte Cherle (1440 m). Here we are on the plateau of Fiorentini. Following the road signage take the long forestry road to Val Fredda, Val Orsara (you will pass by the Agritur Restaurant Vallorsara) and, always remaining in a wooded area; reach the Fortress of the First World War Forte Sommo alto (1610). After have seen the fortress turn at the left, return a little behind and ascend through a dirty road to Camini, descend to Passo Coe and dross the main street to the fortress Forte Dosso delle Somme. From here, you will have an amazing view to the valley of Terragnolo, the pass Borcola; on the other side, there is the mountain Pasubio, testimony of the First World War. From here starts a nice descent on the northwest side of the Martinella until Serrada and then Folgaria, the starting point.
