Route from Lake Cei to Malga Cimana along the Costole ridge.
Imagine a peaceful mountain lake, surrounded by nature. Here you will come to the springs, to admire the wood that is reborn after the long winter, you will come during the summer to escape the heat and enjoy the spectacle of the water lilies lying on the water, you will love it in autumn, when the forest lights up colours and reflections of red and yellow trees plunge into the water and you will appreciate it in winter, when the silence of the white forest will allow you to immerse yourself in the peace of these places. The Lake of Cei is one of the most loved places in Vallagarina, a short distance from Rovereto, it is ideal for a break in nature, after visiting the historic center and the museums of the city. Here, in the center of the Pra dell'Albi – Cei protected area, you can visit the visitor center and take part to the many activities organized for the summer period

    Lago di Cei

    From the car park near the northern shore of Lago di Cei, cross the road and continue towards Cimone for about 50 m. Turn right onto a dirt road that, after passing the first houses, enters the woods. After four hairpin bends you reach the characteristic Capitello di Costole. Continue further north passing some characteristic houses and then keep the right crossing a meadow, then continue uphill. After two hairpin bends you will reach the maximum elevation of the path. From here the path descends slightly to emerge in the meadows below. After crossing a sparse stretch of wood, go up again through the meadows to reach the last part of the flat path that leads to Malga Cimana.

From the A22 Rovereto Nord motorway exit, follow the directions for Lago di Cei. Go past the characteristic view of the lake visible along the road and immediately turn left for parking.
