CermiSkyline - Description
The more demanding passages of the section called Vertigo can be circumvented with easier variations and make it a route suitable also for sporty and equipped families.
The excursion to the Bombasel Lakes leading to the start of the ferrata is a classic destination for fans of Alpe Cermis.

Start
Paion del Cermis
Once the lift has taken you up to the Paion del Cermis peak at 2.230 m, you will soon find an informative billboard with all the indications about the ferrata and the route to take in order to reach the starting point.
It will take 40 minutes to arrive there, along the wide L03/353 trail, up to the Lakes of Bombasel (2,268 m).
Past the starting point, which is marked by a second board, you can continue along the same trail, the L03/353, as far as Forcella del Macaco (2,278 m), where you will find indications directing you to Bombasel Vertigo.
Here, the CermiSkyline ferrata will take you over the vertical cliffs of the north-east crest and up to the peak, the solid bulk of Castel di Bombasel, at 2,535 m.
Once at the cross on the peak, the descent takes a single path, along the Bombasel Highway, an equipped route along the northwest crest as far as the Standing Stone, then along the L04 trail and back to the starting point, thus completing the loop.
Return to the Paion del Cermis peak using the same trail as the outward journey (L03/353).
Bombasel Vertigo, as the name suggests, offers to experienced and well prepared excursionists some more difficult thanks to which, always in complete safety, it is possible to cover some passages that seem to hang magically over the skies of Lagorai.
These variations are, however, optional, since the excursionists can branch off from the main ascent route and then return to it or simply proceed along it. -
