From the Malga Cimana dei Presani to the Austro-Hungarian positions of the Great War to the Dos dei Canoni.
The Vallagarina, during the First World War, found itself to be borderland and in these places numerous battles were fought. The testimonies of these sad events are still clearly visible when visiting the area. From trenches to military cemeteries, passing forts and cippi: from Pasubio to Val di Gresta, from Baldo to Lessinia, discover the places linked to the Great War in Vallagarina. Following this itinerary that starts from Malga Cimana, you will reach the former Austro-Hungarian artillery positions. Visit also the Italian War History Museum, in the Castle of Rovereto.

    Malga Cimana dei Presani

    From the starting point the route follows the forest road for 1.3 Km towards Malga Cimana di Pomarolo until it crosses the paved road that goes up from the valley floor. From here take a downhill right for a short distance and turn left again on the dirt road near the roundabout (signs for Dos dei Canoni). The road ends, after about 1.5 km, directly on the panoramic pitch at the end of the road itself. Towards the end of this stretch of path you will encounter some signs, at the beginning of the paths that lead to the area of ​​the ruins. The return takes place along the same route forward.
