Cristo Pensante - Description
The excursion, extremely rewarding from a naturalistic point of view, offers an atmosphere of meditation.
From the peak of Monte Castellazzo you can enjoy a privileged view of the grandiose walls of the Pale di San Martino and the entire valley.

Start
Passo Rolle
From the car-park just beyond Passo Rolle (1.980 m) take the unsurfaced road leading up, through the meadows, to Capanna Cervino.
From here follow the directions for “Trekking del Cristo Pensante” trail, first on an track and then on a mule path.
The track becomes a trail (passing through a 50 metre wartime walkway) and then reaches the summit of Monte Castellazzo (2.333 m) with its statue of Cristo Pensante – the Thinking Christ).
The summit gives a better perspective of the impressive rock walls of the Pale di San Martino and a wide view of the Lagorai range and Val di Fiemme. -
