High Trail Valdaora/Olang - Description

A strenuous but rewarding hike in the Valdaora/Olang Mountains. From Passo di Furcia/Furkelsattel, which is accessible by car, go left on Trail No. 3 up the Dreifingerscharte to Giogo della Croce/Kreuzjoch (2,283 m). Walk to Malga Groppes di Sopra/Obere Krippesalm via Grünwald-Pass on Trail No. 24, and then continue up to Forcella di Groppes/Krippesjoch Pass (2,310 m). After crossing the Sennesscharte saddle, (2,519 m) climb up to Seekoflhütte mountain hut (2,300 m) and then finally on Trail No. 1 to Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee Lake (1,493 m). From there, you can take the bus back to Valdaora/Olang.

Coming from Innsbruck/Brenner (A): Drive on the Highway of Brenner (A22) until the exit Brixen/Pustertal, then go on along the SS49-E66 for about 50kms until you arrive in Olang/Valdaora. Coming from Lienz (A): You can reach us also padding by Lienz in Westtyrol (A). You have to cross the Austrian-Italian border between Ahrnbach and Winnebach (B100-E66) and drive on the SS46-E66 until Olang/Valdaora Coming from Bozen: Highway of Brenner (A22) until the exit Brixen/Pustertal, then go on along the SS49-E66 for about 50kms until you arrive in Olang/Valdaora.
