Directions

  • Start

Madonna di Campiglio Brenta Alta square

From Piazza Brenta Alta in Madonna di Campiglio, head to Piazza Righi and then continue to the left along Via Monte Spinale. At the first roundabout, continue straight ahead, and at the next roundabout, take the third exit and head down Via Vallesinella, which you will follow until the gatehouse of the park (sign for the start of itinerary 962 – keep following the signs). Turn right towards the helipad, to the left of which there is a mule track that will take you to the aqueduct. Pick your bike up for the steps and continue along the main dirt road, which descends slightly to another forest road. At the intersection, turn right and cross the pasture to Malga Fratte, then continue along the main forest road to Prà de la Casa (follow itinerary 961). Now keep to the right onto the paved road, cross the bridge, and continue on for about 300 yards until an intersection, where you will turn left and head down to the Pinzolo-Campiglio Express lift.
(Follow itinerary 960) Take the gondola lift and enjoy the spectacular view of the majestic Brenta Dolomites, Val Brenta, and the Plaza and Fogajard farmhouses. Stay on the lift at the Colarin intermediate stop and continue on to the Patascoss station. At the top of the lift, get off and head down the dirt road until you get to the paved road, where you will turn left. Continue on for about 150 yards to a sort of small roundabout, where you will continue straight ahead and head down the main road. Continue down the hill for three switchbacks until you see a bridge. Do not cross the bridge, but instead turn right onto a dirt road that continues along the ski runs. Continue down the hill, keeping to the right, until you get to the chair lift for the Canalone Miramonti ski run, where you will turn left to head back into town and Piazza Brenta Alta.
When the Pinzolo-Campiglio Express lift is closed, return to Madonna di Campiglio along "Via Vecchia" trail.
