Passo San Valentino ring - Description

A panoramic walk through the meadows and beech forests of the Brentonico Plateau.
A pleasant walk starting from the San Valentino Pass towards the beech woods behind the village of the same name, then descending towards the meadows around Malga Pianeti and then climbing back up to the Pass. Along the way, you will admire the splendid landscapes of the Bès Corna Piana natural reserve and enjoy a unique view of the Baldo chain and Monte Telegrafo.

Directions

  • Start

    Passo San Valentino

From Passo San Valentino continue towards the village of the same name along the dirt road parallel to the main road. Once you have reached the town center, cross it continuing straight ahead along the slightly downhill road. At the end of the inhabited area, on the right, you can admire the remains of a military cemetery dating back to the First World War. From here the route continues along a classic mule track (marked SAT 0654) towards the meadow and then the wood. At the exit of the wood, go down through the large meadow in front of you until you meet the dirt road that comes from Malga Pianeti. Here turn left and follow the dirt path towards the hut. Continue beyond the malga and reach the Provincial Road 208 not far away. Continue downhill on the SP208 for about 200 meters until you meet a dirt road that climbs to the left in the direction of Malga Postemonzel. Once you reach the meadows before the hut, go up to the left along the wood to cross the SP208 higher again. From here you go up the wide basin to return again to the San Valentino Pass.
