The Goldsee Lake Trail (Goldseetrail) - Description

The Goldsee Lake Trail from the Stilfserjoch ridge at 2,757 m to the Furkelhütte mountain hut (2,153 m, possible refreshment stop) is the classic mountain bike tour in the Val Venosta/Vinschgau valley. The trail, originally constructed as part of the glacier front in the First World War, is open daily for bikers until 9am and after 4pm. In order to spare bikers the ascent via 48 hair-pin bends, a shuttle service is offered up to the Stilfserjoch ridge.

From Spondigna/Spondinig via the street to the Stelvio Pass SS 38 to Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch or Trafoi. From there you can take the bus to the Passo dello Stelvio. The Passo dello Stelvio ridge can be reached by public transport from the end of June to the beginning of October.The tour is only available during a certain time window. The start must be no later than 9:00 am at the Stelvio Pass.
