The Oswald Promenade: Mediterranean flair on the edge of the city - Description
w
alk near the city provides visitors with countless breath-taking views and can be recommended at all times of the year. Even in deepest winter there are plenty of opportunities for observing nature, as the local microclimate ensures that it is exceptionally mild here throughout the year. We’re always surrounded by a thriving natural environment and, although the promenade is artificially laid out and has been landscaped in many places, this is nevertheless a retreat where unspoilt nature can be enjoyed.

Start
Near the St. Anton Bridge close to Bolzano/Bozen
The hike begins in San Antonio/St. Anton, a district in the north of Bolzano, and takes us on a gently rising gradient, with some switchbacks, up to an altitude of just over 400 m. We then continue to a crossroads where four paths meet. We carry straight on and after about 20 minutes come to the Eberle Inn. Return is either on the same trail or, at the half way point, we can take trail no. 2 straight back to the city. -
