Theme trail - The Hidden Lake - Description

Difficulty T: Touristic Route Once the village of Vigalzano is just entered, an arrow to the left indicates the route for the biotope: it is a provincial natural reserve of Pudro Lake. Following the directions in a short time an unpaved road is found which has at its sides maples, poplars, willows and hornbeams, and that runs along the sides of the reserve. The lake is not fully visible since it is surrounded by a generous vegetation, that creates different kinds of environments that represent an ideal shelter for many animal species. It is possible to see: the cane thicket, alders, peatlands and ponds, on whose surface waterlilies emerge. We strongly advise visitors to keep noise down to avoid disturbing the wild fauna and to take advantage of the various visit structures that allow to closely admire the lake and with a bit of luck, to see various birds including: herons, grebes, coots, mallards, moorhens and maybe some roe deers. Once the lake border is crossed, the path that goes up to the left is followed up to the next crossroads, where the left is kept, passing through coltivated fields including: vine and cherry trees. The walk goes on following the unpaved road and at whose side a wall is found, that brings back to the starting point. Where to find observation structures: 1. Bridge in the cane thicket to be taken before the outdoor room 2. At the side of the main road, a protected point of observation is found 3. At the end of the lake, on the right there is a path that leads to the lake basin, whereas on the left there is a bridge made of wood that crosses the outlet of the lake exists.
