Trail delle Marmotte n°967 - Description
Directions

Start
Monte Spinale
From Piazza Brenta Alta (Madonna di Campiglio), head down and to the right towards Piazza Righi and then continue along Via Monte Spinale. At the first round about, turn left and head to the Spinale gondola lift, which has enough room for two riders and their bikes to ascend in totalcomfort.
The view from Monte Spinale is priceless, a 360° panorama from the north and the mountains of Val di Sole and northern Brenta, to the east the Grostè pass and the central Brenta group, to thesouth the Doss del Sabion and Val Rendena, and to the west the Adamello-Presanella Group against the backdrop of the Ortles-Cevedale group.
(Follow Trail no. 967.) Follow the dirt road that heads down to the north east along the ski run. At the first fork, keep to the right where the route levels out for about 200 yards before descending again to the lower station of the Boch Express chair lift.
At the crossroads, take the road that heads up towards Rifugio Graffer, not the road that leads to Malga Boch, which is further to the right. Continue up for about a mile and a quarter (2 km) along the dirt road, which will include some uneven sections, until you reach Rifugio Boch. Continue inthe direction of the ski lift and then go around the lift to the left. Head down slightly to find the trail that connects with Dosso della Vagliana (La Colm).
This up-and-down trail, which features some highly technical sections, will take you to a sort of apass. From here, head down the technical, single-track trail towards Malga Vagliana. Continue along the dirt road. Roughly 100 yards after the malga, you will find a bar across the road. Be sure to close the bar again once you have passed to keep livestock from wandering off.
Continue along the road until the switchback to the left after Malga Vaglianella. Here you will leave the dirt road and head out on a mule track to the north and into the forest. This will take you back to the road. After a sharp turn to the left, you will head south to Malga Mondifrà.
Follow the road to the south. This will take you first to an old lime kiln (from here follow Trail no.963), then to the parking lot for the Grostè gondola lift. Before you reach the parking lot, turn left into the forest where you will then follow the ski run. Cross the big, white bridge and head down to the left until another parking area, where you will see a narrow dirt road on the right that runs behind Residence Ambiez. Follow this road until the ski run and then head down toward the tunnel beneath the highway. Go through the tunnel and then turn left shortly after exiting. Continue along the dirt road for about 100 yards, then turn right onto the asphalt. Head down along this steep road (USE CAUTION!) to the center of Madonna di Campiglio. -
