A gradually rising, sunlit itinerary up to a vast clearing at Milegna and the nearby Malga Ritorto. The route offers a beautiful view of the Rendena Valley to the south, the Brenta Dolomites to the east, and the Adamello mountain range to the west.
An excursion of intermediate difficulty along forestry roads and trails through a wooded area to Milegna. Here, there is a vast pastureland overlooking the entire Rendena Valley to the south and on to the southernmost foothills of the Alps. The truly stunning panorama extends from the Brenta Dolomites to the east to the Adamello mountain range to the west. The itinerary continues to the north until you reach Malga Ritorto. Thanks to its orientation, this is a particularly great spot to enjoy many hours of sun, from early morning till late into the afternoon.

    S. Antonio di Mavignola, Paluac area

    From Madonna di Campiglio or S.A. di Mavignola on the SP 239 you reach Paluac area, where you can park. From the parking lot you can take the forest road, that ascends towards north close to the Masi di Paluac and then gradually takes to the Milegna pasture (40 min). Here the road becomes steeper and, crossing the pasture, it arrives to Casa Capot. e path continues on a flat pavement reaching shortly Malga Ritort (50 min), 1.747m. To return follow the itinerary vice versa till the starting point.

Appropriate winter clothing, hiking boots, walking poles and instep crampons or snowshoes, water bottle or thermos flask.

Tips for the tour

Be sure to bring a camera. Malga Ritorto is an excellent spot to enjoy a hot beverage or local alpine delicacies.

Go to Paluac (400 meters past Fratè) along highway SS239, between Madonna di Campiglio and Sant’Antonio di Mavignola. Parking is available here.
Park along the highway near the start of the itinerary.
