A pleasant stroll through the woods to the beautiful Nambino Lake, a place of unparalleled peace and tranquility immersed in nature.
An excursion of intermediate difficulty but accessible to all and that runs through a beautiful forest along a trail that winds its way gradually up the mountain.
The destination is a natural amphitheater with an alpine lake of rare beauty, which is covered in snow and ice in winter. Overlooking the lake is a typical alpine lodge in this enchanting setting in which to enjoy local alpine delicacies as you gaze out over this tranquil scene.
It is also an exceptional spot from which to admire the Brenta Dolomites, particularly at dusk, when the setting sun colors the rocky spires pink.

    Piana di Nambino area

    From the center of the town head north and after 300m from the exit nord of the tunnel (at Hotel Cristal Palace) take the public road left and follow for about 500m until you reach Piana di Nambino area, 1.635m (15 min). After the tunnel turn right passing along the ex Malga Nambino and after the last buildings take the forest road that leads to the start of the path which climbs the final steep part (15 min). Passing the start of the cable car the route begins to climb and crosses the stream. After a few turns and a dense pine wood you exit on a flat ground at the outlet of the lake, from where the Refuge, 1.770m, is soon reached (20 min). To return to Madonna di Campiglio follow the same route backwards

Appropriate winter clothing, hiking boots, walking poles and instep crampons or snowshoes, water bottle or thermos flask.

Tips for the tour

Be sure to bring a camera. The itinerary is exposed to the sun during the morning hours. You won’t want to miss the thrill of an evening outing followed by dinner in the lodge.

Arriving from the south through the Rendena Valley along highway SS239, pass Madonna di Campiglio, then turn left 200 meters (220 yards) after exiting the tunnel. Follow the signs for “Lago di Nambino”.
Free parking in "piana di Nambino" area, the starting point of the excursion.
