A tour among the pyramids of Segonzano, the men of Segonzano “I òmeni de Segonzan” a rare and fascinating geological phenomenon
The trail Sentiero delle Piramidi takes us to discover one of the most fascinating geological phenomena of the all Trentino area: the earth pyramids.
Along the valley formed by the brook Rio Regnana, a small valley on the side of the valley Val di Cembra, an ancient glacial deposit eroded by water formed some high earth pinnacles with a big stone hat on the top and some peaks coming out from the wood. The big pinnacles with a big stone on the top remind to some human figures: the men (òmeni) of Segonzano. The pinnacles reach important heights and thanks to this trail you can have a closer look at them and fully appreciate their majesty.
Attention: during summer time you will need to pay a few euros ticket to enter this trail.

    Segonzano – Chiosco alle piramidi (kiosk)

    Starting from the forecourt of the kiosk Chiosco alle Piramidi, the path climbs. At the first crossroads just above the kiosk go up on the right following the path where you can find some viewpoints of the pyramids. Some of them might be covered by the vegetation, which is quite difficult to control on the steep slopes. Continuing on this path you will reach a paved road going down to the hamlets of Luch and Stedro. From Stedro, following the road signs, take the country road and the path to go back to the starting point, but before that you need to detour to the panoramic point to fully appreciate the highest pyramids seen from below.

Tips for the tour

The trail is steep and south-west oriented. Therefore, we strongly suggest to avoid the central and the warmest daytime hours. Once reached the hamlet Stedro its narrow streets deserve a visit before going back.

To drive here from Trento, you need to follow the main road S.P. 71 north. After passing the crossroads to Faver-Cembra park in the forecourt of the kiosk Chiosco alle Piramidi on your right. To drive here from the valley Val di Fiemme, you need to follow the main road S.P. 71 south. After passing the hamlet Scancio turn left and park in the forecourt of the kiosk Chiosco alle Piramidi.
Free parking at the parking place of the kiosk “Chiosco alle Piramidi”, before arriving to the hamlet Scancio arriving from Trento or just after the hamlet Scancio arriving from Cavalese.
