Trekking Val Calamento – Malga Cagnon di Sopra - Description
It's doable also with a cross-buggy. From Malga Cagnon di Sotto the rout becomes gravel but it remains smooth and easy.
Directions

Start
Malga Valtrighetta (1445 m/4739 ft)
After parking the car, continue straight along the tarmac road that, leaving behind the road that climbs up the Manghen pass, advances into the high Val Calamento.
After a first short stretch of woodland you come out to some vast pastures dotted with small mountain houses.
The road goes eastwards, increasingly advancing into Val Calamento with a slope that is never excessive.
After some hairpin bends you reach Malga Cagnon di Sotto (1730 m), located in a large pasture.
Here you come to the starting, upstream head of the valley. A large amphitheatre closes it.
The road, with a hairpin bend to the right, goes up a steep slope and then enters a depression called Campìo where there is a sort of swamp at the base of Malga Cagnon di Sopra, now visible on the southern slope of Monte Croce.
The road runs on the left of the depression and leads to Malga Cagnon di Sopra (1885 m) with a final short climb.
The return is back along the uphill route. -

Tips for the tour
The route is also suitable for families. Pay attention to its length. You can bring along a Cross pushchair; from Malga Cagnon di Sotto the road turns into a dirt road, but is still rather lovely.
