Start
San Lorenzo in Banale
From S. Lorenzo in Banale proceed towards Località Promeghin (at the church turn right), leave your car in the carpark and continue along the paved road for Moline-Deggia. When you reach the first shrine dedicated to Our Lady, descend along the road on the right following the sign for Sentiero San Vili (SAT 300) towards Andogno. This is an easy route that runs through fields and disused terraced vineyards, to enter a mixed woodland of hazel trees, field maple trees and lime trees winding its way around imposing rock formations. (Loc. Pergoletti). Continue descending, heading south-west, through fields, shrubs and woodland until the path opens out onto pastures and cultivated land: here, the road becomes paved and the view spans across the villages below and, above them, the mounts of Banale. Proceed along the paved country road, which turns into a dirt track further along, following the Sentiero S. Vili signs. Cross the Torrente Ambiez and continue uphill towards the centre of Andogno. When you reach the historic heart of the village, turn right and walk up a set of steps towards a small church. After the church, keep following the S.Vili’s path to an underpass, to avoid the main road, and exit near Chiesa dell’Assunta a Tavodo. As you reach the church square, leave the S. Vili’s trail, which continues to the left towards Stenico, and take, instead, the road on the right towards Dorsino. Continue on the regional road until you come to an intersection with a state road, join the latter for 50 metres until you reach a dirt track descending on the right. Follow the dirt track until you come to a remote house near the Torrente Ambiez, cross the stream and turn right onto a steep paved road leading swiftly to Dorsino. When you reach San Giorgio’s church, dating between XV and XVI century and featuring frescoes by Baschenis, proceed on Strada dei Ponti (the bridges road), which will take you outside the village (on the right you will see Dorsino’s cemetery) through the artisans’ quarter. Return to San Lorenzo along a paved road towards Promeghin Sport Centre, keeping on the right-hand side of the road. -
