Walk - Monte Lefre - Description

Walk into the woods between First World War trenches and tunnels to a breathtaking panoramic point.
An interesting way to enjoy Valsugana from a new and different point of view. During WWI it has worked as a strategic observation point; now, thanks to a wise and well-done requalification, it is possible to admire again all the work the soldiers have done more than 100 years ago.

Directions

  • Start

    Refuge Monte Lefre

This is a short and educative excursion, perfect for everyone; it combines beautiful views with information about the events that devasted the valley during First World War.
Right behind the playground and the swings by the refuge, starts a path that leads to a viewpoint; on the sidewalk it is still possible to see trenches and tunnels used by the soldiers. Once at the belvedere, the path keeps going direction north, circumventing the refuge clockwise.
Arrived on the asphalted road, turn right to get back to Rifugio Monte Lefre.
