Walk - Route Eremo San Lorenzo - Description

The church of San Lorenzo is located 1185 meters above sea level on Monte Armentera. It was built during the Middle Ages and was guarded by an hermit until the end of the XVIII century.
Frescoes with images of San Lorenzo are still visible and were made between the XIII - XVI century. Many drawings were also made by pilgrims when they visited in times of plague and famine.

    Parking at Locanda al Legno - Val di Sella

    Difficulty E: excursion trail
    From the hotel Legno walk back 100 mt from the parking and reach a small forest house where a forest trail starts. After a walk of about 20 minutes at an altitude of 960 mt you run into a crossing, where you go to the right in North East direction where the forest trail becomes a mountain path. The route is on the mountain side of Monte Armentera "Val dela Crose". To reach the historical building (1185m) you have to follow the cart track along beeches and pines until you see the open space with the small church of San Lorenzo.
