L'evento

With Corpi Santi, Pietro Moretti presents a body of work comprising oil paintings and watercolors that engages with the uncanny and the wondrous aspects of contemporary urban life, weaving together narratives drawn from literature, history, and personal experience. The new works are created along the banks of a river—the Tiber—and are particularly inspired by the landscape at its mouth near the Idroscalo di Ostia. There, a sequence of scenes unfolds in which figures from the present encounter those from mythology, fairy tales, and history, while fruits emerge from the water, artifacts resurface, and bodies transform. Within this procession of bodies, Moretti, in dialogue with the tradition of the Roman School, alternates between moments of restrained realism and others in which the landscape shifts inward, opening up multiple layers of interpretation.

Alessandro Twombly’s solo exhibition focuses on a painterly and sculptural practice deeply rooted in a relationship with nature. Nature is not understood as a subject to be depicted, but as a starting point for a form of psychological abstraction. His works are characterized by an intense gestural energy, the use of vibrant and layered colors, and a physical engagement with the material, often worked directly with the hands.

At the same time, in the entrance area of the gallery, new oil paintings on wooden panels by Johannes Bosisio (*1994, Cavalese) are presented, initiating a new cycle of intimate self-portraits.
