A panoramic hotel: once and today. Was the term ‘summer resort’ born in Colle? Well, that doesn’t really matter, because everyone that leaves the sweltering heat of Bolzano in summer in direction of Colle will feel revitalised after just a few minutes. This was nothing new to the ingenious hotelier Josef Staffler. In 1908 he built the first suspension passenger-cableway to Bolzano’s local mountain, and still today one can enjoy from the cablecar the breathtaking view.
