Fridays for children: Everything in copper!
Organizer: South Tyrol Museum of ArchaeologyAbout the event
Join us on a journey to the Copper Age! On three afternoons you can get to know Ötzi the Iceman and try out his ingenious techniques for yourself at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology.
Third date: Friday, 21 March, 2:30pm – 5:30pm Everything in copper!
Come to our workshop and work with us! Power cables, coins, water pipes, cooking kettles, and much more are made of copper and have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. In our workshop we want to investigate this material a little… We will follow its traces into the past: What meaning and use did it have back then? Where did it come from and what did Ötzi have that was made of copper?
In a workshop there is work to be done so we will shape copper wire into small pieces of jewelry, transform copper plates into beautiful bowls, and let our imagination run wild while decorating copper sheets.
Available in German and Italian.
Reservations required by Wednesday, 19 March at giuliana.plotegher@iceman.it
Price per child: 10 euros. The workshop is included in the reduced museum ticket. If one parent would like to visit the museum during the workshop, they can purchase the Family Ticket “Mini” instead, i.e., for only 3 euros more.
