In the cool paradise, in the idyllic greenery of Soprabolzano, enjoy the fantastic panoramic views of the Dolomites, the greenery of the picturesque centre and numerous hiking destinations on one of the most beautiful plateaus in South Tyrol.

The village of Soprabolzano is located on Bolzano's sun-drenched high plateau - the Renon. A place that since the 17th century has been a popular destination among the bourgeoisie of Bolzano (the "rich people of Bolzano") on hot summer days, to escape the oppressive temperatures of the Bolzano basin. With the construction of the rack railway at the beginning of the 20th century it was crowned as the "paradise of freshness". The numerous residences of famous local and foreign families such as Walther von Herbstenburg, Amonn, the Counts of Toggenburg or the anthropologist Bronislaw Malinowski, the theologian Eberhard Arnold and the writer Lion Feuchtwanger are testimony to this.

Although it is no longer possible to reach the picturesque village centre of Soprabolzano via the cogwheel railway, there are wonderful winding roads and cable car routes that take you to this green paradise in just a few minutes. Don't be fooled by the size of the place because, although rather small, there is still a lot to see: look at the medieval frescoes in the church of St. George and St. James built in the 13th century and let yourself be impressed by the earth pyramids of the Katzenbach Gorge. In the Museum of Beekeeping, you can learn everything about working bees and you can get in touch with them thanks to the adventure path "The bee senses".

In addition, numerous hiking trails are waiting to be explored on foot or by mountain bike and to accompany you along wide meadows and dense forests, towards beautiful lakes such as Lake Costalovara, the small lake of Costalovara (Gasterersee) or Lake Mezzo. Enjoy also a stop along the paths to admire the splendid view of the imposing Dolomites chain. You can reach the nearby village of Collalbo, the principal village of the Renon, which will allow you to see even more during your stay.
